Let's go fly a kite

I admit it, sometimes I'm not the smartest gal on the block.
One screw loose.
Here's one of the "Amy Moment's".

So I thought I had a brilliant idea, definitely to be nominated for Mother of The Year.

LIV, LET'S GO FLY A KITE!!

So we head to Target on a quest for the perfect kite.
We find one, it's $7.99 a little more than I want to spend for a afternoon delight.
Next aisle, find a .99 one. Wala!! Sold!

For sure thinking, there really can't be that much of a difference in the two kites and save myself $6.
$6, that's 6 Diet Cokes people!!

So we head to the nearest park.
I'm excited, in fact I think I'm more excited than she is.
Come on it's been at least 25 years since I've done this.
I read the instructions, at the same time, thinking really is this necessary.
At this point Liv is really getting anxious and eying the playground 50 feet away ready to leave me hanging any moment.
Finally, we are ready!!

And I actually think, does it take 2 people to fly a kite.  (Amy Moment #2)

First attempt, not so much.
Second attempt, failure.
Third attempt, we change positions.
Liv you hold the kite and Mommy will throw it in the air and pray for success.

It's not working, I'm a tard.
Liv gives up and runs away to the swings.
I'm seriously baffled as to how this isn't working.
I promise I'm not this stupid.
Ok maybe a little.

We will try this again another day.
I refuse to let my daughter give up.
So needless to say below is a perfect picture of how we spent the afternoon.

We get home and I look at the kite again, HELLO BING BONG!
I attached the string to the wrong part.
HEYO!
So I tell Liv the next morning that we are going to get out there and try this bad boy again.
She looks at me and says "Mommy it's ok, it's broken"
Oh no she didn't!
We go back to the same park holding our heads high.
And what do you know! It WORKS, GLORY DAY!

What I LOVE about this picture is that in the background is my Elementary School,
GO RIVERTON RACCOONS!!
It's not a school anymore, but it's still the same playground I grew up on.
With some major equipment updates, thank goodness the old wood swings aren't there anymore.
Can you say Sliver in the Booty!

Come on ride dat train....

I love that song, reminds me of high school cheer.
But this kind of cho cho train was one we found at Grandma's house.
I'm usually not the sit down with your child and play with your kid for 4 hours at a time kind of mom.
But this was fun. I actually played for longer than a commercial break.

Maybe it had to do with the feeling that I was feeling extra lucky and generous seeing that I got to take a shower by myself, shave both legs and arms (yes I shave my arms) and have it practically be boiling water just the way I like it.  HALLELUJAH right?
