It all started as a little girl watching my brothers play baseball for hours on end every gosh darn Saturday during the summer. I swear it felt like my mother bathed us in the concrete bathrooms, with gross soap and wiped us down with paper towels because we didn't have time in between the 7:00 and the 8:00 games! Ok so maybe it wasn't that bad, but I think that's where it all started. Then we moved up to playing every Sunday with my cousins, where we would either go to the Elementary School and play indoor dodge ball or hide and seek. (Both of which I highly recommend to even adults) Then when we hit the high school and middle ages we would still get together and play hours of Hot Box or Wiffleball.
Anyways that's a little memory of how this Labor Day all got started. It started as a friendly invitation to go up to Pineview with my brother and sister and law to her aunt's cabin near Pineview. We thought sure what the heck, it's only 68 degrees we won't be doing any swimming but I'm sure we will find something to entertain ourselves with. We're simple folk, it doesn't take much!
Our first challangee of the day was to act like statues as Ryan, Debbie, and the kids arrived and to see who could hold still the longest and not make any noise. I Lost! Big Time, this is something I just can't do. Sit still and be quiet.
Then we headed down to the local park, this park was great. It would have been a child's dream to play on. But what do we do as grown adults..... we immediately kick the kids off and start putting together a plan of how we can do a timed race up the slides, down the slides, through the bars, etc. It was a blast. It's been three days and I'm still sore. I have the bruises to show you. We kept wanting to improve our score for ourselves of course not at all to compete with our siblings. As if 34 seconds isn't good enough!!
So we decided not to be poor sports and let our kids play on the playground. Really this was so we could move over to the swings and have nothing other than a SWING JUMPING CONTEST!!! I stunk at this I went straight down, and I admit I was a little scared. It's funny what happens when your an adult (I say that with caution) and fear starts to set in a little. I used to do back flips off the swings for heavens sake. Then we got bored and then decided to get creative with our poses!
I thought everyone did a great job, so I gave everyone there own collage. If you want guys, you can add the pictures to your resume to show your talents and skill.
Yes I face planted it! That's what happens when your butt sticks to the swing but your upper body doesn't!
Sorry I had to break out the cheerleader moves (as awful as they are) I didn't want to risk breaking my ankle, so I played it safe.
Yes daring Jon attempted gracefully landed the back flip!!
